This team was the first to pioneer the domain of ad-hoc wireless sensor networks and its application by implementing a platform named Consensus. The team designed and developed the hardware platform, including the sensor interface, the protocol stack, middleware and the configuration tool for the platform. • Built a 15 member computation systems research team which currently focuses on research pertaining to distributed computing, high performance computing, and formal methods. The research agenda for the team is built by defining the short term and long term technology agenda with inputs from businesses and current technology trends. • Managed and grown wireless research team that is 15 members strong and supports ACS wireless agenda. As lead for this team I have defined the research agenda in the wireless domain based on emerging technology requirements and new opportunities. The wireless Center-Of-Excellence that focuses on engineering and product development for ACS was established out of the wireless research team. The entire infrastructure including the labs and other resources were built ground up. • Won the corporate growth fund for a proposal titled ‘IP Convergence’. The corporate growth board funded Phase-1 activities pertaining to identifying cross BU opportunities for IP Convergence based technologies. This was the first program from HTS to win growth board funding. • Involved in the due-diligence process to evaluate the technologies, in the domain of demand side response (DSR) in the energy management opportunity, created by an Australian research firm. This due-diligence was done to evaluate the suitability of the technology for one of the new opportunities in HPS business • Developed a comprehensive framework for organization wide IP strategy to address the need for creating both short term and long term strategic intellectual properties in the businesses. This framework is currently being executed within ACS business in HTS. Several teams in ACS business has been identified which have selected products and solutions that is executing this framework. Some of the products and solutions are implementing this framework are in the domain of gas sensing, next generation building controller, energy management and security solutions. • Currently I lead a growth program called ‘Intelligent Traffic Management’. As part of this initiative I lead a team that is working with startup companies, government organizations and other agencies to identify and define opportunity in the area of traffic management in emerging regions. Some of the potential opportunities the team has explored are in the fields of sensors, communication systems, and large scale computation systems. • Identified a framework that defines differentiating opportunities based on value-chain analysis, is being piloted in a few growth programs and business solutions to identify disruptions and to do scenario planning. • Managed geographically distributed teams with members from HTS offices in China, Madurai and Bangalore. The team worked as a unified global team with a common research agenda. • Lead engineering teams which have created products and solutions for several businesses in ACS. These include development of controllers and energy management platforms for HBS business, control and automation platform for the power systems business. In this role I was tasked with interacting with the marketing teams and end-customers to understand the requirements and architect and build the solutions so that it meets the needs. • Evaluation of technology trends by understanding the current and future portfolio of technologies and mapping them to business needs.
